In this brief encyclopedia entry, I assessed trends in Victorian Handbooks giving advice to mothers. I covered both famous writers, lesser-known ones, and guide books which had successful sales, and then tracked what has and hasn’t changed since the Victorian era in regards to the advice we given women.
